Celebrating Franchise Appreciation Day

With Franchise Appreciation Day approaching (Saturday 31 August), we had a chat to two of our successful franchisees about their experiences with Peter Blackshaw.

REBECCA BRADDON, PRINCIPAL OWNER
Peter Blackshaw Gungahlin

Why did you want to manage a franchise business?

With both Michael and myself being self-motivated, it was an easy decision when the opportunity presented itself. There’s so much involved when starting your own business – being part of a group and having the support of the network was invaluable. The Peter Blackshaw brand aligns with our values and, by already having a strong presence in our market place, has only added to our success.

What are the benefits of managing a Peter Blackshaw franchise?

I would have to say the top two benefits of managing a Peter Blackshaw franchise is our size and being an established reputable local brand in the Canberra region. We are boutique in comparison to nationwide franchises, but this allows us all to have a voice and be agile, when required.

How did the Principals Retreat in Bali contribute to the value of being in a franchise network?

The location set the scene, being in a relaxed environment away from daily tasks allowed the Principals to bounce ideas around, collaborate and forward plan for the next 12months. It certainly reinforced that we share the same goals and most of all gave us the time to socialise outside of work in a relaxed environment!

LISA QUICK, PARTNER

Why did you want to manage a franchise business?

For me, managing a franchise business meant that I could jump straight into an established brand, knowing that I had the support and systems behind me to have every opportunity to succeed.

What are the benefits of managing a Peter Blackshaw franchise?

A Peter Blackshaw franchise offers a solid brand with a great reputation and an outstanding track record – plus the staff at all levels are exceptional.

How did the Principals Retreat in Bali contribute to the value of being in a franchise network?

The Principals retreat was an excellent opportunity to connect and share ideas with the other franchise business owners in a more relaxed environment away from the immediate pressures of the day to day.  Along with the obvious business benefits created through a focus on strategy and planning, the retreat was a fabulous way to strengthen the relationships among franchise owners, creating a more cohesive team who are open to discussing a range of ideas that will benefit both individual businesses and the Blackshaw brand as a whole.
