The Gungahlin Town Centre is a marketplace with a variety of dining options, and there are great restaurants and cafes throughout the region. There are a number of venues in the region that are family friendly for lunch and dinner, and that host live local bands and Open Mic nights.
There is plenty to do in Gungahlin, especially for the whole family to enjoy. Cockington Green, the Reptile Museum and the Dinosaur Museum are family favourites at Gold Creek. For a gold coin donation entry fee, The Hartley Hall markets are at the Hall Village Showground on the first Sunday of every month, which supports Hartley Lifecare's disability programs and services.
Yerrabi Pond is a great place to spend a day out with the family, and you won't run out of things to do there - there's an adventure playground, barbeque areas, a large flying fox, a junior playground, two skate parks and dirt bike jumps. There's an indoor leisure centre, and plenty of sports clubs to join, depending on whether you prefer baseball, netball, athletics, rugby league, touch football, soccer, gridiron, cricket or hockey.
The Canberra Institute of Technology, Gungahlin Secondary College and the colourful Gungahlin Library are all located within the Town Centre. There is a large choice of schools, sporting and recreation facilities and commuting is easy with Gungahlin Drive and Action Buses offering frequent and easy access to the surrounding areas of Canberra.
