Lining the Murrumbidgee Corridor, Tuggeranong is the southernmost town centre in Canberra. The region remained a rural retreat right up until the first residents moved into Kambah in 1974.

The Tuggeranong Town Centre has a variation of cafes and restaurants lining the streets, as well as many others throughout suburbs in the region.
There is always plenty to do in Tuggeranong. The Hyperdome Mall houses the Limelight Cinema, and there is ten-pin bowling down the road from there. The indoor trampoline centre and paintball are always popular activities for all ages. Pine Island and Point Hut Pond are both popular places to get outside in the warmer months for swimming. If you’re happy to go for a short drive, past the last houses in Gordon, the Lanyon Homestead is a great day out for the family and feels like it’s hours out of town. Namadgi National Park is a short drive from Tuggeranong, and has many different walks to try, each with spectacular views.
Tuggeranong is home to many local sports teams and clubs, including netball, hockey, rugby swim and archery, and there are facilities for all. There is a leisure centre in the town cnetre, and a BMX Track in Kambah.
The Tuggeranong Arts Centre is an institution in the Tuggeranong region, focusing on using artistic mediums to improve wellbeing, increase community involvement and educate through cultural programs, collaborated with the Ngunnawal people.
Tuggeranong has many public and private schools, as well as a CIT Campus.
